THIS IS A SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN VOLUNTEER POSITION
The Vet Coordinator role entails being the liaison between our fosters and veterinary offices to ensure that cats and kittens are being properly scheduled for appointments, so they are current on all necessary medical needs while in our care and prior to adoption.
Time commitment is a few hours a week and may vary from week to week depending on need and urgency.
Key Responsibilities
- Call Heavenly Paws partner veterinary offices to schedule necessary vet care
- Coordinate foster's availability with available veterinary appointment time slots
- Ensure that proper vaccines and tests are scheduled in accordance with cat/kitten vaccine and testing schedules
- Document all veterinary appointments, tests and updates that are scheduled/completed in the cat/kitten master spreadsheet
- Ensure new foster information is loaded into the master spreadsheet
Qualifications
- Strength and comfort in using Microsoft Excel, Google Drive and Gmail
- Solid written and verbal communications skills (email, phone, texting)
- Relationship Mgt to work effectively with veterinary partners
- Broad, successful teamwork across Board, fosters and volunteers
