In honor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy, the Zeta Beta Zeta Chapter proposes a one-day volunteer project aimed at addressing food insecurity in underserved communities in Michigan. On January 24, 2025, our initiative, "Legacy of Service," will mobilize youth volunteers to engage in a comprehensive food distribution event, fostering a spirit of service and social responsibility.

Community Needs: Food insecurity remains a critical issue in Michigan, particularly affecting marginalized communities. With the challenges posed by rising costs and limited access to resources, many families struggle to secure healthy meals. This project aims to provide immediate relief while promoting justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion through active community engagement.

Food Distribution: Partner with local food banks to organize a large-scale food distribution event, providing nutritious food options to families in need.

Nutrition Education: Offer brief workshops during the event led by local nutritionists, educating families on meal planning and healthy cooking practices. Youth Engagement: Involve students from local schools in planning and executing the event, enhancing their leadership skills and fostering a sense of community responsibility.
