We are a team of four professionals working in different areas of education, including the arts, housing insecurity, and support for incarcerated individuals. We are dedicated to providing our students with opportunities they might not otherwise have access to, while also supporting and connecting with their families throughout the process.
What We Do
FLA's after-school program is funded by 21st CCLC, a federal grant specifically for the out-of-school time (OST) programs. We provide dinner to students from Key's food service, have an academic hour that utilizes a program called Edmentum for both reading and math, and then we have an hour dedicated to enrichment. Some of the enrichments activities we have planned for this year include Introduction to Drawing, Introduction Painting, Introduction to Photography, Introduction to Mixed Media Art Production, Introduction to Sculpture, Dance, Nutrition/Health Education, Youth Organizing Intro, Conflict Resolution Education and skill-building, AI prompt Engineering, Social Life of Technology.
