Who We Are

Mission: To support and promote the Harper Woods Public Library through fundraising, volunteerism, and advocacy, enhancing library programs and services for the community.

The Friends of the Harper Woods Library is a dedicated nonprofit organization that works to support the Harper Woods Public Library and enhance its services to the community. Through fundraising, advocacy, and volunteer efforts, the Friends group helps provide essential resources, programs, and events that enrich the library experience for all ages. Since 1983, the Friends Group has been an asset to the library and the community. Friends donations have funded library programs, prizes for children’s events and the seed money for many special projects that the library budget cannot provide.

By fostering a love of reading and learning, the Friends of the Harper Woods Library are committed to strengthening the library’s role as a vital community hub that supports education, creativity, and cultural engagement.
