Who We Are
Mission: To promote the early detection of ovarian cancer and improved treatment outcomes.
MIOCA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Established in 2011, MIOCA is a Community Partner of the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance. MIOCA is committed to building a community that represents all individuals affected by ovarian cancer and where every person, regardless of their age, race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, and religion has access to our services and feels valued and welcome within our organization.
What We Do
MIOCA serves survivors and their families by providing information, resources and support services as well as advocating for increased research and access to care. MIOCA serves the public by educating both women and healthcare professionals to better recognize ovarian cancer symptoms to help save lives through earlier detection. MIOCA is invested in Michigan’s scientific community by awarding ovarian cancer research grants totaling $800,000 to date. What is raised in Michigan, stays in Michigan, as MIOCA works on behalf of the ovarian cancer community.
