Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium in Flint, MI, are premier cultural and educational institutions dedicated to inspiring curiosity and lifelong learning in the fields of science, history, and technology. Together, they provide immersive experiences for visitors of all ages, combining hands-on exhibits and cutting-edge planetarium shows to create dynamic learning opportunities.
What We Do
Sloan Museum of Discovery offers interactive exhibits focusing on history, science, and culture, with rotating special exhibits that cover a variety of topics. The museum also houses a rich collection of historical artifacts related to Flint and the automotive industry. Longway Planetarium, the largest planetarium in Michigan, features a state-of-the-art dome theater where visitors can explore the wonders of the universe through breathtaking shows about astronomy, space exploration, and scientific phenomena. Together, the museum and planetarium provide educational programming for schools, summer camps, and public events, along with hands-on STEM workshops and historical tours designed to engage and educate the community. These institutions serve as valuable cultural and educational resources for residents and visitors alike.
