Statewide Volunteer Registration for Michigan Severe Weather Response
On March 6, the Michigan counties of Calhoun, Branch, Cass, and St. Joseph were struck by a fast‑moving series of severe storms, including tornadoes and damaging straight‑line winds. These events caused significant structural damage, as well as injuries and tragic loss of life. Local responders are currently focused on immediate life‑safety needs and stabilizing the affected communities.
At this time, we are asking all individuals outside the impacted areas not to self‑deploy. Uncoordinated arrivals can unintentionally strain local resources and disrupt emergency operations. A structured volunteer plan is in place to ensure that help is provided safely, effectively, and at the appropriate time.
