The Michigan Community Service Commission is seeking volunteers to serve as skills-based volunteers and project managers to help build the capacity of nonprofits across our state. Skills based service is a great way to lend expertise and experience while making a significant financial impact on nonprofit who could not otherwise access professional services due to limited resources.
Are you 55 and better? We are also seeking volunteers who would like to serve on our Senior AmeriCorps Team. The ideal volunteers for this role are individuals who are retired or work part-time and have great organizational skills. These volunteers serve a flexible schedule and provide project management oversight for the nonprofit and volunteer to ensure projects are supported and the experience provides an outstanding opportunity for all.
Whether you choose to provide service as a project manager or a skills volunteer, schedules and projects offer a great way to create savings for an organization and help grow their capacity and reach to help others in their community. Most projects are remote/virtual and can be as short as a 30 to 60 minute phone call or as long as six weeks to see a project to completion. Most projects are one person with a staff contact but also can be a team setting.
