The Michigan DNR has an exciting volunteer opportunity this spring. We’re inviting you to join us in hands-on land stewardship by removing invasive garlic mustard plants from some of Southeast Michigan’s most high-quality natural areas. This season (spring 2026), we’ll be working in: Bald Mountain, Recreation Area, Brighton Recreation Area, Highland Recreation Area, Pinckney Recreation Area, and Waterloo Recreation Area. Volunteering with the Stewardship Unit is a fantastic way to strengthen community connections, enjoy the outdoors and get active, and make a lasting impact on Michigan’s natural resources.
