HelpLine Volunteers
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at SafeHouse Center! We have a rich history of providing exemplary services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and are at the forefront of efforts to create a violence-free society. We invite you to join us in this work. All gender identities are welcome to apply for all volunteer positions.
HelpLine Volunteers help answer our 24-hour HelpLine. These volunteers are cross-trained to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, education, and practical assistance to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault either in the shelter or on the phone.
Volunteers are asked to make a minimum 4-hour per week commitment during weekdays, evenings, weekends and overnights.
We do provide crisis intervention training and it's mandatory to attend ALL training before volunteering with survivors can begin. In addition, we require on-the-job training and a six-month commitment.
Applications are open until Wednesday, September 4th !! After receiving the application, you will be contacted about the next steps in the application process.
We highly encourage all applicants to attend a volunteer information session to learn more about the services and requirements and review available roles. https://www.safehousecenter.org/volunteer-info-sessions/
