Global Youth Service Day - Allen Neighborhood Center

On Saturday, April 29th, we will host a 2 hour Service event in Hunter Park to clean, prepare, and plant our free-to-all, you-pick community garden, Edible Park. Volunteers will positively impact the Eastside neighborhood as they work to improve an important community resource that allows for 24 hour access to nutritious food throughout the growing season. Spring vegetable beds will be prepared and 284 perennial vegetables, berries, and fruit trees will be planted into our community orchard and perennial beds. Volunteers will further increase the usability of Edible Park as they install detailed signage featuring plant identification information, harvest instructions and preparation tips.
