Statewide Volunteer Registration for Michigan Severe Weather Response
In April, Michigan experienced nine additional tornadoes and significant stress on multiple dams across northern counties. Warmer temperatures have accelerated snowmelt, causing ongoing flooding in more than 34 counties, all of which are now included in a State of Emergency.
As communities continue to face overlapping disasters, volunteers are urgently needed—both for immediate response and for the long recovery ahead. Volunteers are especially needed to support:
- Food preparation and feeding operations
- Transportation of supplies (including volunteers with trucks)
- Muck‑and‑gut cleanup
- Debris removal
- Home repairs
These needs will continue for months. Your willingness to step forward now will directly help families return to safe, stable homes. If you are able to volunteer—or can share this call within your networks—please take action today by responding to a specific need or joining the Michigan Disaster Response Team where you can be paired with a trained team.
