Who We Are

AmeriCorps Seniors at Senior Neighbors is Kent County’s hub for connecting schools and non-profits to the wisdom, experience and enthusiasm of volunteers 55+. Through three unique programs, we tap into the capacity of older adult volunteers to expand partner organizations’ ability to address community needs.

What We Do

You choose how you’d like give back. Between the three programs, volunteer opportunities are available to accommodate schedules, location preferences and mobility restrictions. You can serve daily, weekly, monthly or as-needed.

How you serve depends on your own interests and availability.

Foster Grandparents: Shape a child’s life as a mentor or tutor. Help students develop literacy and math skills and be a positive adult role model. Volunteers serve 15-40 hours a week in a local school or daycare classroom.

RSVP: Use your skills and abilities in a volunteer role that aligns with your interests. Volunteers serve at organizations across Kent County or remotely. Flexible schedules, remote service and one-time opportunities are available.

Senior Companions: Provide assistance and friendship to older adults and provide respite for family caregivers. Volunteers serve 15-40 hours a week at in-home placements.
