Mission: To provide the tools for educational equity, economic stability and mobility; and cultural enrichment opportunities for women and girls who have limited access to resources – empowering them as they work towards a brighter future.
Mercy Education Project (MEP) is a nonprofit organization based in Detroit, Michigan, dedicated to providing educational opportunities and support for girls and women from underserved communities. By focusing on academic enrichment, career readiness, and personal growth, MEP empowers individuals to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential. The organization offers a range of programs designed to build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and provide the tools necessary for success in school, work, and life. Through mentoring, tutoring, and community-building initiatives, Mercy Education Project strives to create a future where every participant has access to education and the opportunities it brings.
What We Do
Mercy Education Project offers tutoring in literacy, math, and science for girls, mentoring for academic and career success, college prep services, career readiness programs, adult education for earning a high school diploma or GED, and workshops to build confidence and leadership skills.
